Founded in 1866, Kemp Smith is the second oldest law firm in Texas. It is the largest law firm in El Paso and the only El Paso-based firm with offices in Austin. 

The firm boasts 12 partners who have been named Texas Super Lawyers, Best Lawyers in America, Rising Stars, or listed in Chambers. These attorneys practice in Business (Allan Goldfarb, Gene Wolf), Environmental (Drew Miller), Labor & Employment (C.B. Burns, Charles High, Mike McQueen) Legislative Advocacy (Tom Forbes), Litigation (Richard Bonner, Milton Colia, Jim Curtis, Scott Mann), and Real Estate (Chris Paul). Charles High was also named a Top Notch Labor and Employment lawyer in Texas Monthly’s Go-To Guide, and was ranked in the top 6 (out of more than 2,000) Labor and Employment lawyers practicing in Texas. C.B. Burns was ranked by Chambers in the top 40. Scott Mann was recently named a "Rising Star" by the publishers of Texas Monthly and Law and Politics magazines.

Jim Curtis and Milton Colia are the only two El Paso lawyers who are Fellows in the American College of Trial Lawyers.  Mr. Colia was also named a Corporate Counsel Super Lawyer.
