Areas of Practice

Allan M. Goldfarb, a native El Pasoan, is Chairman of Kemp Smith's Business Department. Mr. Goldfarb’s primary focus is working with and advising owners and principals of closely-held and family businesses. This includes work on formation and termination of business entities and associations (including corporations, partnerships and proprietorships), purchases and sales of businesses, contractual matters, employee benefit plans, and other aspects relating to business and personal estate planning. In addition, Mr. Goldfarb has extensive experience in probate and estate matters, including tax planning and filings with the IRS. He is Board Certified in Estate Planning and Probate Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization.

Mr. Goldfarb received a Bachelor of Business Administration, with highest honors, from the University of Texas at Austin, and his Juris Doctor from the University of Texas School of Law. He also received Chartered Life Underwriter and Chartered Financial Consultant degrees from the American College. Mr. Goldfarb is a member of the American Bar Association, the State Bar of Texas Section on Real Estate, Probate and Trust Law, the El Paso Estate Planning Council, the El Paso Probate Bar Association and is Past President of the Society of Financial Service Professionals.

Professional and Civic Involvement

Mr. Goldfarb is very active within the community. He currently serves on the Boards of Directors of El Paso Holocaust Museum and Congregation B’nai Zion. Mr. Goldfarb is also a member of the Leadership Council of the UTEP Centennial Campaign and of the Paso del Norte Group. He is Past President and current member of the Advisory Committee of Rio Grande Cancer Foundation. He has served as Chair of Leadership El Paso, President of the Jewish Community Foundation of El Paso, as Co-Chair of the 2006 Jewish Federation Annual Campaign, as a member of the UTEP Centennial Commission, the Board of Trustees of the YWCA Foundation and the YWCA Executive Search Committee. Mr. Goldfarb is also a Donor Member of Temple Mt.Sinai.

Mr. Goldfarb has spoken on estate and business planning issues to numerous professional and lay groups, including the State Bar of Texas, and has authored several papers on advanced estate planning techniques and probate matters. Mr. Goldfarb was selected for inclusion in Texas Super Lawyers (Estate Planning and Probate) and in The Best Lawyers in America (Corporate Law and Trusts and Estates).
