J. Scott Mann
Areas of Practice
Scott Mann is a partner in the firm's Litigation Department maintaining a diverse civil litigation and trial practice. The focus of his practice has been the defense of healthcare providers, product manufacturers, commercial and passenger vehicle retailers, trucking companies and various other business entities in tort and commercial litigation. He has also defended commercial vehicle manufacturers and local businesses before administrative bodies of the State of Texas, including the Texas Department of Transportation and Texas environmental compliance agencies.
More specifically, Mr. Mann has successfully defended hospitals, physicians, nurses and nurse midwives in healthcare liability claims in the state and federal courts of Texas and New Mexico. His experience also includes counseling healthcare providers concerning the peer review process.
Mr. Mann has also represented a wide range of national and multi-national product manufacturers against strict tort liability, warranty, negligence and intentional tort claims and causes of action. His clients have included the manufacturers of commercial trucks and passenger vehicles, consumer products and fire suppression devices.

Professional and Civic Involvement
In 2005, 2008-2010, Mr. Mann was named a Texas "Rising Star" Super Lawyer by the publishers of Texas Monthly and Law & Politics magazines. Considered among the best in their profession, Rising Star Super Lawyers represent the top 2.5% of up and coming Texas lawyers who are 40 years of age and younger or have practiced law less than 10 years. The Texas "Rising Stars" were selected from the results of an extensive nomination and polling process conducted by Law & Politics and published in a Texas Monthly and the Rising Stars edition of Texas Super Lawyers magazine.
Mr. Mann is a current Director of the Sun Bowl Association, and a former Director of the El Paso Bar Association and the Texas Association of Defense Counsel.
