James A. "Jim" Mounts III
Areas of Practice
Mr. Mounts' practice focuses on providing rail and road carriers, insurance companies, employers and general industry with efficient and result-oriented legal representation in personal injury and general civil litigation.
Upon admission to the State Bar of Texas in 1986, Mr. Mounts practiced in the El Paso City Attorney’s Office, primarily in the trial section, where he handled a substantial volume of tort litigation, including personal injury and property damage claims brought under the Texas Torts Claims Acts.
Mr. Mounts has maintained an active trial docket of cases in the product liability, transportation and general liability areas. Mr. Mounts has defended multiple death motor vehicle accidents in cases for various carriers, third-party premises security cases for real property owners and managers, product liability and deceptive trade practices cases for industrial manufactures, and a large variety of other personal injury and civil litigation. Mr. Mounts has also handled employment litigation, including wrongful termination and retaliatory discharge suits. Mr. Mounts has an impressive track record in taking the vast majority of cases he has tried to a zero verdict in favor of the defense.
Mr. Mounts has regularly worked in the development of defense-favorable experts and the cross-examination of opposition experts in a considerable variety of fields, including orthopedics, neurology, toxicology, pulmonology, chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering and many other professional specialties.
