Sarah Faust is a partner in the environmental, administrative and public law department. Ms. Faust specializes in water and environmental law, representing governmental agencies in permitting, rulemaking, enforcement, open government, and compliance with state and federal law. Ms. Faust also represents entities and individuals in environmental permitting and compliance matters, including protesting agency decisions. Ms. Faust has significant experience in endangered species issues, environmental assessment, water quality regulation, and land use and development issues. Ms. Faust litigates in state and federal court, as well as contested case hearings before state agencies. Prior to a judicial clerkship with the Fourth Court of Appeals in San Antonio, Ms. Faust studied international environmental law at Sydney University Law School, in Sydney, Australia, focusing on environmental impact assessment. Since 2004, Ms. Faust has practiced in Austin, her hometown.
Ms. Faust serves on the City of Austin Water and Wastewater Commission and the Balcones Canyonlands Preserve Citizen Advisory Committee, and is a Board Member of the Save Barton Creek Association. Ms. Faust is a member of the Leadership Austin Essential Class of 2012.
