Gregory E. Martin has joined Kemp Smith as an associate in the firm’s Business Department.  Mr. Martin will focus his practice in the areas of Corporate & Business, Estate Planning and Tax.  He is a graduate of Trinity University and Texas Tech School of Law, J.D. magna cum laude.

Tekla O. Mann has re-joined Kemp Smith as an associate in the firm’s Litigation Department.  Ms. Mann will focus her practice on insurance defense, medical malpractice, premises liability and consumer litigation.  She received her B.A from the University of Texas at Austin and obtained her J.D. from Texas Tech University School of Law.  In the community Ms. Mann serves on the Board of Trustees for St. Marks and is a volunteer for the Fellowship of Christian Athletes.  She is a former member of the Junior League of El Paso.

KS Partner C.B. Burns was a speaker at the Equipment Leasing and Finance Association (ELFA) Legal Forum held April 29th through May 1st in Austin, Texas.  Ms. Burns spoke on Negotiating and Enforcing Confidentiality and Non-Compete Agreements.  ELFA represents more than 550 member companies, including many of the nation's largest financial services companies and manufacturers, as well as regional and community banks and independent medium and small finance companies throughout the country.

El Paso, TX (May 14, 2012) KS Partner Cezy Collins attended the White House Judicial Vacancy Briefing on May 7, 2012.  Ms. Collins, as President of the National Conference of Women’s Bar Associations participated in the briefing, which included meeting with staff from Senators Hutchison’s and Cornyn’s offices.  The White House Briefing connected senior Obama Administration officials from a wide array of policy areas with community leaders to discuss the judicial vacancy crisis and issues critical to the community, region and nation.  U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder and Assistant to the President Kathy Ruemmler led the briefing.  Approximately 150 community leaders, organizational allies and leaders attended the briefing.
