Elisa Samaniego is an associate attorney in the firm’s Business Department. Her area of practice includes Corporate and Business, Real Estate, Estate Planning and Probate. Elisa began her legal career in Kemp Smith’s trial department defending insurance carriers in bad faith litigation, representing insurance carriers on behalf of policy holders, and defending employers and insurance carriers under the Texas Workers’ Compensation Act.
A native El Pasoan, Elisa received her B.B.A. in Finance and International Business from the University of Texas at El Paso. At UTEP, Elisa was the President of the Women in Business Association and the Business College Council, and a Senator-at-Large for the Student Government Association. She was also named an Honors Convocation Outstanding Senior in Finance.
Elisa attended Louisiana State University Paul M. Hebert Law Center on a full tuition scholarship and graduated from LSU Law with a J.D. and Graduate Diploma in Comparative Law. During law school, Elisa interned at the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Texas and the Executive Office for Immigration Review. Elisa also participated in the STAR (Sexual Trauma Awareness and Response) Clinic and the Immigration Law Clinic. She was the co-founder of the Hispanic Law Students Association and the President of the Immigration Law Association. During her second year of law school, Elisa studied at Universite Jean Moulin in Lyon, France, and earned a Graduate Diploma in European and International Business Law.
Elisa is currently on the board of CASA of El Paso and Progress 321, and volunteers for the Sun Bowl Association.
