Kemp Smith is pleased to announce that Amy B. Bailey has joined the firm as a partner in the Corporate and Business Department in Las Cruces, New Mexico.
Amy is a qualified mediator and accomplished litigator with extensive experience handling divorce and family law matters throughout southern New Mexico. Her practice includes divorce, child custody, property division, retirement benefits, alimony and spousal support, and related family law issues. In addition, Amy serves the court as a Guardian ad Litem in custody and adult guardianship matters and regularly acts as an arbitrator and special master in a variety of cases.
A graduate of the University of New Mexico School of Law, Amy brings nearly 20 years of experience to the practice of divorce and family law. She currently serves as the New Mexico Board of Bar Commissioners representative for the Third and Sixth Judicial Districts, is a member of the Children’s Court Rules Committee, and is an elected member of the New Mexico Family Law Section Board.
Prior to joining Kemp Smith, Amy founded and managed the Las Cruces office of New Mexico Legal Group. Her previous roles include serving as a divorce litigation supervisor, being appointed Albuquerque City Clerk from 2010 to 2013, and providing general counsel to the New Mexico Secretary of State. From 2012 through 2019, she also served on the New Mexico Lottery Authority Board of Directors.
