Kemp Smith is pleased to announce Sebastián Uribe has joined the firm as an associate in the Trial Department. He was raised in El Paso, Texas and Cd. Juárez, Chihuahua and is a graduate of Coronado High School. He earned his BBA in Accounting, cum laude, from the University of Texas at El Paso, where he completed the UTEP Law School Preparation Institute Program, and earned his J.D. from the University of Wisconsin Law School, where he was an Advanced Opportunity Fellow and served as Treasurer for the Latinx Law Student Association.
Prior to law school, Sebastián interned at the Rio Grande Council of Governments in the El Paso Dispute Resolution Center. He helped parties resolve civil disputes within the community through mediation.
As a law student, Sebastián participated in the Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot Competition and the Constance Baker Motley Mock Trial Competition. He formed part of the Immigrant Justice Clinic, where he worked on special immigrant juvenile and asylum cases. Sebastián was the recipient of the Latinx Law Student Association Scholarship and the Bruce Beilfuss Memorial Award for outstanding service to the law school.
